Koome Island Phase I Pine Tree Project

In 2011, the organization acquired a 40acre piece of land at Kibanga, Koome Island, Mukono District. In 2014, the organization embarked on planting pine trees on the first 10acres of the land. The nearby Kibanga Forest previously touched the shores of the L. Victoria from deep inside the Island but had been degraded by the Islanders. The intention of this project is to restore the forest cover. So far, 3400 trees have been planted and the project life span is projected at 30years.
