With a combined experience of more than 40 years, the organization's board is vastly exprienced to direct the organization's goals and core values.
Dr. Kasule Taha Ahmed
Chairperson
Dr. Kasule Taha Ahmed is the Chairperson of our Board of Directors. Dr. Taha has a PhD in Economics from the International Islamic University of Malaysia. He has immense experience in administration and management having served in different administrative capacities in leading institutions including currently, as a member of Quality Assurance Committee of the Islamic University in Uganda where he also serves as the Deputy Director of the University’s Kampala Campus.
Dr. Taha is a visiting lecturer at Kigali Independent University and previously taught at the International Islamic University of Malaysia as Graduate Teaching Assistant.
Kalule Ahmed Mukasa
Executive Director
Kalule Ahmed Mukasa is a member of the Board and serves as our Executive Director. Ahmed is an Advocate of the Supreme Court of Uganda, a member of the Uganda Law Society, East African Law Society, Pan African Lawyers Union and the International Bar Association.
Ahmed has a Master of Laws Degree with emphasis on Climate Change from Makerere University in Uganda. His LLM Thesis titled: ‘’Kyoto Protocol to the UNFCC: A critical analysis and its relevance to Uganda’’ presents his very wide research in the area of Climate Change.
He has attended and contributed to several international Climate Change Conferences including COP21 in Paris, France, December, 2015. Ahmed serves on the Government of Uganda Adhoc Committee on the Implementation of the Paris Agreement.
Ms. Sumayyah Nansamba
Human Resource
Ms. Sumayyah Nansamba is a member of our Board of Directors directly responsible for human resource. Nansamba chairs the BOD Sub – Committee on Human Resource. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management from the Islamic University in Uganda and previously worked with the Electricity Regulatory Authority, the electricity sector regulator in the Republic of Uganda.
Ms. Joan Katirima
Secretary
Ms. Joan Katirima is the Secretary of the Board of Directors. Joan is an Associate Partner with Crane Associated Advocates with experience spanning a period of over 7years. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Law from Makerere University and a Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre, Kampala. She is an enrolled Advocate of the High Court of Uganda.
She also holds a Certificate of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators [ICSA-UK]. She is a member of the Uganda Law Society and East African Law Society.
